Okeechobee Main Street's $100,000 Median Beautification grant took shape in on 441.  New plantings with vibrancy and color is now be the focal point.  We hope to maintain these medians with the help of the community through an Adopt A Median plan.  

 

The Median Beautification project has been a labor of patience.  Okeechobee Main Street applied and was granted funding for renovating the current non-descript medians that run down the center of our town.  Beautification of these medians present an appealing entry into our downtown area and beyond.  People therefore businesses are drawn to areas that have appealing curb appeal.  Main Street has presented an ideal oasis setting for a number of our medians which we hope will encourage city and county to review for all medians in our area.  Beauty of natural landscaping means a welcome sight to new comers and permanent residents.
