Courthouse Art Exhibits

Okeechobee Main Street Arts and Culture Committee have become the curators for the art exhibits that will be displayed in our Historic County Courthouse.  The Board of County Commissioners were approached at a meeting where Main Street asked and was approved to hang the Viva 500: Land of Flowers photography exhibit.  With this approval a professional tract system was installed with cables and clips to provide a mode of display that would not deface or detract from the historic restoration that brought the courthouse back to life.  Main Street was asked to become the curator for these exhibits with the support of the county for future exhibits.  Our most current exhibit is "Country Life".  This exhibit is paintings of Okeechobee heritage and traditions.

The "Country Life" art exhibit was well attended by both City and County officials as well as family and friends of the Artists and Main Street.  Thank you to all of our fabulous artists: Brad Phares, Diane Richmond Hall, Kathie Papasso, Sandra Pearce and Fawn McNeill - Barr.
